What Is Stress?

Stress is the bodies response to extreme conditions, releasing “fight or flight” hormones and other chemicals that tense muscles for action and prepare emotions for fast response. Stress has evolutionary roots, in that humans developed these responses in order to run from danger, fight marauding enemies or move quickly away from natural hazards. However, the response remains even though we live in societies where these events no longer occur. The body “overreacts” to everyday events with heightened tension on a frequent basis. And this frequency is what causes stress to build up to unhealthy levels.

to much stress can lead to a strain on the body and the mind. We stay in this state of fight or flight for to long. We project fear in our minds, Wherever our mind goes so does our body. So if we are constantly worries and living in fear our body stays in a constant state of tension.
